This course aims at enhancing and valuing the professional knowledge and competencies in procurement. It is an introductory level designed to meet the needs of all Public Sector procurement staff and setting practices standard to all procurement practitioners.

The course targets:

  • Government officials or practitioners involved in procurement or supplies at the central or local levels.
  • Procurement practitioners from the private sector and international organizations or staff working on projects financed by the donor community

The course is conducted, in the Arabic or the English language, in a highly interactive manner through a combination of presentations by subject-matter and through self-assessment exercises, group work and case studies, were participants are encouraged to exchange expertise and discuss local practices.

The attendance and commitment to the course requirements are pre-requisites to sit for the final exam. The successful completion of the exam at rate of 75% is mandatory to get certified.

The program duration is 30 hours spread over a period of 5 days.

This course was developed by international experts in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply in the UK (CIPS), and the support of the Government of Italy. It is offered by the Institut des Finances Basil Fuleihan in Lebanon in cooperation with CIPS-UK.
